A couple of months ago, we had a fun and different kind of shoot in the studio. My daughter, Molly decided that she wanted to create some Disney "storybook shoots" for adults. She studied fashion make-up application and collected props for her scenes. She asked me to help her with lighting the session and teach her some of the basic photography involved. She decided to start with "The Little Mermaid". I asked one of my senior clients to come and model for her. Sydnee was a great sport! It took about an hour to apply the make-up and nails. We were finally ready for the shoot. Molly and I had set up the background and lights ahead of time. When we walked into the studio, I actually got to sit down and watch! The look on Molly's face when I didn't get behind the camera was priceless! She took a deep breath and started to direct her model and everything began to fall into place. I was in charge of moving lights and getting her "tail" to move with the fan. After the shoot, I took a few of the images and created some "magic" to them and even put the mermaid in the water. We had a lot of fun and this was a learning experience for everyone. We hope to create more Disney shoots in the future.
