Summer is the best time for family portraits! The kids are out of school and everyone is tan! Flowers are blooming and the grass is nice and green in the summer. You should have family portraits taken at least 3 times in the life of the family: when the youngest child is 2, when children reach ages 8-12, and before the oldest child goes off to college. Pets are always welcome at Martha Peoples Photography! We understand that they are a part of your family!
Of course trying to figure out what you are going to wear for your family portrait can be stressful. It used to be that everyone wore white shirts and khaki's or blue jeans and white shirts. That's nice and simple but it doesn't have much WOW. Now the trend is using color in your family portraits. It brings out the individual personalities and gives your portraits some POP. White and black are great to wear in B&W portraits, but if you want something unique, add some color! Choose a color palette and work with 3 or 4 different colors. You can layer clothing on children and use accessories to add dimension and fun.
