The question on everyone's mind these days is "Can I afford having professional pictures made?" Well it is an investment, but you should know that as your photographer, I have invested in you as well. It may be that saving up for that special session is what you are looking for or you may be more interested in quick takes.
I OFFER MANY WAYS FOR MY CLIENTS TO SAVE MONEY:
1) I offer a FREE 8x10 for each referral a client sends to me.
2) I offer a FREE 8X10 when a client writes a review for me.
3) I offer a FREE session when I need a model to show new sets I am creating.
4) I offer discounted packages to clients that are members of my Watch Me Grow Club, Little Tykes Club or Storybook Club.
5) I offer a free session and 8x10 portrait to scouts that have earned their Eagle.
6) I have a Spokesmodel program for high school students that help them save on their session and package.
7) For high school seniors, I offer a discounted session if they book the month of June and they can get a discount card from their school's spokesmodel to save on their package.
8) I have quick takes specials 3 times a year and offer dance and cap and gown specials.
9) I offer free products with certain spending levels.
(checkbook cover)
10) I have a Pet Days special once and year that also benefits the Lenoir County SPCA.
You may ask "Why are professional portraits so expensive?" Simply put, you are not just paying for the photograph itself, but the time and expertise of creating the image. A one hour session will take me an hour to shoot, 1 to 2 hours to retouch, an hour for you to come view and choose your images and 1 to 2 hours to print and package. That does not include any special album designs or art pieces. I also have to invest time in the business outside of work for the session. There is marketing, bookkeeping, updating websites and social media, maintaining a business license and sales tax that have to be done. I spend time helping my clients prepare for their session through Pinterest, my blog and printed material that I design and give to them. This can take anywhere from 5-20 hours a week.
I have to invest in equipment for a photo session: a great camera, lens, tripod, lights, backgrounds, props, etc. I have to have a place to photograph in and the utilities and upkeep of that building. I print my own work, so I have to invest in printing equipment for professional prints.
Regular training and software is a must in this business. I have to attend classes to keep up with the latest technology. I have to pay dues to the professional photography organizations that I belong to that help me in my craft.
A lot of time and energy go into making your portraits and experience with me the best that it can be. It's more than just a financial return, it is taking time away from my family to create images for other families. I take pride in my craft and want to provide my clients lasting memories.

Gale Hoey - I lived the portraits of my dogs. You captured their personalities in such an awesome way. I thought your prices were very reasonable and appreciated no pressure to buy. Your photography is so good it sells itself!
